Coin Flip

Flip a fair coin.

Each flip uses one new bit. A streak is not adjusted.

Results appear here.

What the result means

One byte is taken from the cryptographic generator, and only the lowest bit is kept. When that bit is 1 the flip is heads. When it is 0 the flip is tails. The other seven bits are ignored, so the two outcomes stay even without a second adjustment. The page does not watch for a run of the same face, and it does not change the next flip to compensate. The latest result is shown large. Earlier flips from this visit can be listed underneath, and that list disappears when the page is reloaded. Nothing is stored on a server. Two heads in a row do not make tails due. The next click is another independent bit.

Questions

Is it 50/50?

Yes. One bit is used. Heads if the low bit is 1, tails if it is 0. The other bits are ignored, and the page does not rebalance after a streak.

Can I flip more than once?

Yes. Each click is a new flip. Earlier results from this page load can stay listed under the latest one. A reload clears that list.

Does a run of heads get corrected?

No. The next flip does not compensate. A streak is an ordinary result of independent bits.
